About

TARAN MARLOW

Taran is a graduate of Sheridan College in the Art Fundamentals and Visual Merchandising Arts diploma programs.  After graduating, she worked for a popular Canadian clothing company as a Visual Merchandiser for five of their locations around the GTA and was finding that even though she was working with her hands she still felt limited in her artistic expression.

Taran loves fashion and wanted to do something that utilized her design skills and her love of fashion so she took a silversmith course in 2012 with Ruth Pallek of Metal Mud Studio and instantly fell in love. She has recently completed the stone setting course at George Brown College.

"I apply my design techniques and principles that I was taught at Sheridan and incorporate them into my jewelry designs.  I make all my jewelry by hand using sterling silver and semi-precious/precious gemstones."

Taran Marlow Jewelry is based in Grimsby, Ontario Canada, where Taran lives with her husband Paul and their dog.  Taran's jewelry is dainty, delicate and unique with pieces that will compliment jeans and a t-shirt to a cocktail dress.

"I like to create jewelry that can be worn everyday or on special occasions.  Nothing is worse than buying a piece of jewelry that you can only wear with certain outfits."

All of Taran's jewelry is handmade by her in her home studio.  Taran uses solid sterling silver and carefully hand-selects semi-precious as well as precious gemstones when creating her jewelry.

Nature, fashion, architecture, travelling and the raw beauty of her materials is where Taran draws her inspiration from.
